The Siam Architects Association has launched the ASA Virtual Exhibition 2021, showcasing architectural heritage through a digital platform under the theme "Refocus Heritage."

The Siam Architects Association, under royal patronage, has introduced the ASA Virtual Exhibition 2021, themed "Refocus Heritage." This marks the first time that stories about architectural heritage and conservation are presented on a fully digital platform, accessible to interested viewers via the website virtualexpo.asa.or.th.

Mr. Chana Sumpalang, President of the Siam Architects Association, spoke about the first online architectural exhibition, stating, "The Siam Architects Association aims to create an exhibition that presents stories about architectural heritage and conservation under the theme.

Refocus Heritage at Architect '64, an annual event showcasing architectural technology organized by the association. Due to the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizers of Architect '64 have adapted the format from a physical exhibition to a fully digital presentation.

This exhibition is filled with fascinating stories about architectural heritage and conservation, particularly the special exhibition 'Chalermrajasuda Architectural Conservation,' held to honor the Siam Architects Association's presentation of the Excellent Architectural Conservation Award (the highest level) for 2020-2021 in the category of architectural and community heritage conservation, specifically for the conservation of the Grand Pavilion at Sanam Pao Palace.

To Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, for her contributions to architectural conservation, this award is the highest honor and is presented to her for the first time. Additionally, there are other exhibitions that offer both knowledge and enjoyment, which can be accessed on the website virtualexpo.asa.or.th.

Dr. Wasu Posayanant, Chairman of Architect '64, commented on this event, saying, "The goal of this exhibition under the theme Refocus Heritage is to present architectural heritage from a new perspective, changing the notion that building conservation is distant from us. In reality, it is part of our daily lives. Visitors will encounter many interesting displays, such as the Chalermrajasuda exhibition.

Architectural Conservation highlights the wisdom of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in preserving the architectural heritage of our nation. The exhibition on the crisis of heritage in the online world addresses hot topics on social media regarding the demolition of architectural heritage that concerns the public, providing accurate information from experts and stakeholders. The exhibition on revitalizing heritage presents case studies on the conservation process and the restoration of valuable architectural heritage for future generations. The short film 'Heritage 64' features 15 episodes that encourage everyone to question the existence of architectural heritage, along with architectural exhibitions such as the Everyday Heritage design competition and the student design competition for rescuing architectural heritage, as well as the photography exhibition of the Architectural Conservation Award for 2020-2021."

In addition to the online exhibition, there are other interesting activities, such as guided tours, special talks about the Chalermrajasuda Architectural Conservation exhibition, and the Heritage 64 short film talk. Interested individuals can participate for free and can view everything at virtualexpo.asa.or.th.
